I had a lot of time to think over my break. I went on vacation to Oregon to see my family and my auntie had no wireless internet. People in Oregon are a lot nicer than those in California. They also have enough sense to lock their wireless router signals. People on bicycles wore HELMETS. They also used flashing lights and wore safety clothes when they rode at night. Crazy stuff.
We took our family dog. He is a almost-five-year-old Silver Merle Great Dane. I was able to walk him at night. I even saw other people walking their dogs at night. We were never cut-off in traffic once in Portland. There is also an EXTREME difference in air quality in the states. And that is why trees are our friends.
I watched some tv. I was pondering this Pumpkin Chunkin show on the Science Channel and wondered if it was possible to genetically engineer a pumpkin which produced a large amount of iron, and put it in a Gauss Cannon. Super high-tech sci-fi stuff. :D
Fred Meyers is an amazing store. It is roughly the size of two WinCo stores, and has everything. The store I went in was so expansive, that I joked about getting a workout while shopping. It combines a Raley’s, Target, Walmart(auto and garden center), and some clothes store which my male mind cannot name. I bought some gel foot sole pads. Tax-free. Yay Oregon.
I did not do a single bit of schoolwork while I was there. I am now panicking to get some done, because it is due relatively soon tomorrow morning. That’s the cost of my semi-stress-free vacation.
While at my aunt’s house, my cousin/her grandson came over for the day. We rampaged around the neighborhood in an old wheelchair, pushing each other up and down hills and attempting insane stunts. We also rummaged through my aunts basement of wonders, and found some old and interesting treasures. It is from the buildup of my aunt’s children’s junk that they left there from their respective childhoods. I think my cousin’s real reason for going into the basement was to avoid his sister, her friend, and my sisters. Four girls in the same room is pretty annoying.
In a crafty manner, I came home with more cash than I went with. We went “shopping” and I “didn’t like anything I saw” which was true; we went to an outlet mall with 75% clothes stores, 15% restaurants/candy shops, 2% cell phone stores, 2% brand name specialty stores, and pet store, the last 1%. I tucked away my shopping money and my lender did not complain. I hope that they won’t either.
I must now write a paper about art. This is the hardest paper that I have ever written. I do not like art, nor do I have any favorite artists. My teacher is open-ended, so I think I will write about not liking art, and why I think that modern art is over-rated.
Cheers.
